Alutiiq

The Sugpiaq ( literal translation: real people ) or Alutiiq ( literal translation: Aleutian Islands ) and Pacific Gulf Yupik are indigenous people of Alaska and is one of the Yupik Eskimo tribes in southern Alaska. The habitat of Sugpiaq (or Sugpiat ) is the Alaska Peninsula and the southern coast of mainland Alaska ( and Kodiak Island ) to the Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound. The present population is estimated at 3,500, of which approximately 200 Alutiiq (proper name: Sugcestun, Sugtestun, Sugt'stun ) speak a language of the Eskimo - Aleut.
