Álvaro Arbeloa

Álvaro Arbeloa Coca ( born January 17, 1983 in Salamanca ) is a Spanish football player. His favorite items are the right side defense and the interior defense. Currently Arbeloa plays for Real Madrid.

Career

Real Madrid

Álvaro Arbeloa began his career in the offspring of Real Zaragoza and joined in summer 2000 in the youth of Real Madrid. With the second team of the club, Real Madrid Castilla, he reached in the 2004/05 season in the Segunda División the rise. Overall, he played in 84 games this stage and scored a goal. In the first squad of Real Madrid, he debuted on October 16, 2004 compared Betis Sevilla and took it whole in the 2004/05 season on two missions.

On 24 July 2006 he finally changed for 1.3 million euros to Deportivo La Coruna, where he quickly secured a regular place as a central defender. The change Arbeloa founded with the desire to gain more experience in the Primera División, and he saw no chance at Real Madrid often used.

Liverpool FC

His strong performances at the Galicians led to Liverpool with Arbeloas former coach Benitez signed him in January 2007 for around four million euros. With the Reds, he debuted on February 10, 2007 against Newcastle United. In the UEFA Champions League first knockout round in 2007 against FC Barcelona had Arbeloa for the first time held a starting place at left-back, he successfully managed to keep Lionel Messi in check and thus contributed to the fact that Liverpool won the game 2-1. His first goal for Liverpool scored Arbeloa April 7, 2007 against FC Reading.

For the season 2007/ 08 Arbeloa changed his jersey number from 2 to 17 in the test matches as well as in the first games of the season he showed consistent and good and secured the starting position at right-back.

Real Madrid ( second commitment )

For the 2009/10 season Arbeloa returned for a transfer fee of around four million euros for Real Madrid. He signed a contract until 2014 and won immediately a regular place as a right-back, however, this position had to share with Sergio Ramos in the season 2010/11 temporarily after the central defense had been reinforced with Ricardo Carvalho. At the final win against FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey 2010/11 he was in the starting. During the season 2011/12 Sergio Ramos moved due to a long injury break Carvalho back into central defense. Then again a regular player at his position, Arbeloa played 26 league games and won with Real Madrid, the Spanish championship. In early August 2012, he extended his contract with the Royal prematurely until 2016.

National

On 26 March 2008 against Italy Arbeloa celebrated his debut for the Spanish national team. In the same year he won the European Championship with Spain, which took place in Austria and Switzerland. In this tournament, he came in the final group game against Greece to use one. Arbeloa also belonged to the squad of the Spanish national team at the World Cup in 2010, but was only used in the group game against Honduras. In the 2012 European Arbeloa was a regular player and won with Spain again the title. He played in this tournament in the right side defense alongside Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba.
