Álvaro de Miranda Neto

Álvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto ( born February 5, 1973 in São Paulo), also known as Doda, is Brazilian show jumper and husband of Athina Onassis de Miranda, granddaughter of Aristotle Onassis.

In October 2013 he was ranked number 23 in the world rankings.

Career

In 1983 he moved from Brazil to Belgium with Nelson Pessoa to train.

De Miranda won with the Brazilian national team at both the 1996 Olympics and the bronze medal in 2000, each with Aspen. He could repeat this success with the horse Oliver Metodo with the Brazilian team also at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003.

In addition, he completed the 1996 Summer Olympics with an eighth place in the individual rating. More championship appearances for him were the World Equestrian Games in 1998, 2002 and 2006. At the Pan American Games in 2011 he won with Norson team silver and finished second in the individual standings Rank 25

Private

With the model Cybele Dorsa Doda has a daughter born in 2000.

In 2002 he learned during training in Belgium Athina Hélène Roussel, whom he married in São Paulo on December 3, 2005. His best man was Rodrigo Pessoa Jumping. The couple lives in Valkenswaard, Netherlands.
