Álvaro López- García ( born 1941 ) is a Spanish astronomer and discoverer of asteroids.

He is a professor of astronomy at the University of Valencia and head of the University Observatory (IAU code J96 ). He discovered together with colleagues from several asteroids.

The asteroid ( 4657 ) Lopez was named after him.
