Álvaro Luiz Maior de Aquino

Álvaro Luiz Maior de Aquino ( born April 29, 1979 in Mariápolis ), short Álvaro, is a Brazilian footballer.

Playing career

Brazil

Álvaro comes from the youth of the great São Paulo FC with which he was able to win two league titles, in which he, however, had little share. During both seasons he was loaned out to other clubs for a Brazilian half of the season.

Spain

In 2000 Álvaro made the jump to Europe. Although he was able to earn a regular place in the Spanish first division side UD Las Palmas, his first season was outside Brazil far from gone happy. So came out during the season that he had falsified his passport. This led to complaints by other teams like Racing Santander. In the 2000/2001 season, he had to stop because of this forgery affair some games. To smooth things Álvaro was awarded for the year 2001 in his Brazilian homeland ( to Atlético Mineiro ), where he became a master.

After the descent of the Canary Islanders in 2003 it moved to Álvaro Real Zaragoza, which had just risen only. There he spent three successful years with the title win in the Copa del Rey in 2004 and winning the Spanish Super Cup in the same year crowned against Valencia.

As of 2006, played Álvaro Levante UD. In January 2008, he was to be sold to the English club Newcastle United, due to the financial difficulties of the Levantine, but this dissolved into thin air.

After descending the end of the season he was allowed to leave the club due to its financial problems and went back to his Brazilian homeland, where he signed a contract with SC Internacional.
