Aly Bain
Aly Bain MBE ( born May 17, 1946 in Lerwick, Shetland Islands) is a Scottish fiddler.
He became known through the creation of the folk band Boys of the Lough, and later by a number of solo albums. In 1994 he was awarded for his musical achievements, the Order of the British Empire ( MBE). He received an honorary doctorate as a "Doctor of Music ( DMus )" from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the University of St Andrews.
