Alysia Montaño

Alysia Montaño (nee Johnson; born April 23, 1986 in Queens, New York City ) is an American middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 -meter distance.

In 2007 she became U.S. champion, was eliminated at the World Championships in Osaka in the flow and finished sixth at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2010 she won the bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and won in the outdoor season again the national title. At the 2011 World Championships, she finished fourth and at the Olympic Games 2012 in London five. At the World Championships in Moscow, she finished fourth, with a gap of four hundredths of the Bronze Medal.

Alysia Montaño was raised in Canyon Country (Santa Clarita ). In 2008 she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Theatre Studies. On 19 March 2011 she married Louis Montaño.
