Amadeo Theatre and Music Company

The Amadeo Theatre and Music Company started its activity in the summer of 2000 in the atrium of the Croatian Natural History Museum in the Upper Town of Zagreb, Croatia. Between 1797 and 1834, the same building was the site of the founding of the first Croatian public theater called Amadeo 's theater, named after its founder, the Hungarian Count Anton Amade de Várkony, the great prefect of Zagreb. In the period between 2006 and 2009 the company was placed in the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb. In summer 2010, he moved back into the atrium of the Croatian National History Museum.

The Amadeo Theatre and Music Company is the only company with a diverse summer scene in Zagreb, with its program, which lasts from July to September. Overall, during the summer season there are about 50 plays, concerts and film screenings with the participation of over two hundred well-known Croatian and foreign artists.

Program

The program of Amadeo Theatre and Music Company consists of a musical and theatrical part. In the musical part, Amadeo organized concerts of classical music, with great emphasis on the participation of young musicians, jazz, world music and pop. In the theatrical part there are premieres and repeats of chamber plays, ballet, monodrama, and stand-up comedy. In addition to the main program Amadeo also has a theater program for preschool and elementary school children called "The Little Amadeo ", and an alternative stage, which is unconventional and amateur art forms dedicated to the " Amadeoff Festival ".

Other programs

In the seasons 2002-2005 12 works have been performed by contemporary Croatian composers.

In the seasons 2001 and 2007 Amadeo has indicated a number of films from the Motovun Film Festival.

From the 2006 season to the present, arranged Amadeo performances of works by Croatian composers that are presented by bands and chamber orchestra.

From the 2007 season to date, Amadeo has cooperated with the Jewish community in Zagreb as part of the Israeli weekly program.

In 2010 Amadeo has indicated a number of films from the Pula Film Festival.

Projects

Located in the premises of the Croatian National History Museum, the Amadeo Theatre and Music Company issued a series of contributions to its revival.

In 2001, on the facade of the Croatian National History Museum in Zagreb, the Amadeo Theatre and Music Company unveiled a monument with its historical bilingual names from the early 19th century: " Kazaliscna Vulicza - Theatergasse ".

In 2003, Amadeo Theatre and Music Company renovated the abandoned atrium of the Croatian National History Museum, guided by the idea of ​​the museum consultant Jakov Radovčić. The " Kamenopisna karta Hrvatske " ( one built of stone slabs map of Croatia ) dominates at the newly renovated Atrium. The 2500 stone slabs, there is a map of the, were collected "in situ" from all over Croatia, and the atrium itself is covered in characteristic Croatian stone. In the courtyard, a unique geological column was placed, bottom and side lighting was laid by the idea of the Maestro Ivo Pogorelic.

The founders of Amadeo Theatre and Music Company are: Nenad Jandric, Rada Vnuk, Zvonimir Zoricic Bozidar Oreskovic (1942 - 2010), Neven Franges and August rotting Heferer.
