The Amargosa River is an approximately 320 km long periodic flow in the border region of Nevada and California in the United States of America. The river's name means in Spanish "bitter".

Situated in the southern part of the Great Basin at the transition to the Mojave Desert, the river flows temporarily from the heights of the north-west of Las Vegas ( Nevada) altitude desert region in California Death Valley (Valley of Death), where he eventually seeps into the sand.
