Amata parish

Amata is located a place in Latvia, northeast of Riga.

The name comes from a railway station on the river Amata. The associated route Ieriki - Abrene is no longer operated. From state farms Amata was 1990, a community whose administration building in the village Kosa was. Not far Amata a settlement with many artificial lakes and summer homes has been created, which are offered for sale.

In 2000, the municipalities Amata and Drabeši were combined to Amatas novads. 2009 occurred in three other communities. In the area live 6357 inhabitants (as of 2010). Serves as the administration building is a historic building of the municipality Drabeši.
