Amaury Pasos

Amaury Antônio Pasos ( born December 11, 1935 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian former basketball player. As the son of Argentinians in Brazil born, he grew up in Buenos Aires and was eleven years of Argentine youth swimming champion over 400m freestyle, before 1950 joined a basketball club for the first time. In 1951 he returned to his native Brazil.

In Basketball World Championships, he won two gold medals as well as one silver and one bronze medal, which he was in 1959 elected as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. He also participated three times in the Olympics, winning two bronze medals (1960, 1964). In 2007 he was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame.

After the end of his active career Pasos ran a lingerie factory, who had founded his father.
