Amboog-A-Lard

Amboog -A- Lard was an American thrash metal band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was founded in 1987 and disbanded again in 1996.

History

The band was formed in 1987 by guitarist Dan Fontana, drummer George Kokkoris and bassist Barry Alpert. In 1989, still guitarist Jeordie White and singer Shawn Rogers joined the band. Together they rehearsed some pieces and held their first appearance in The Treehouse in Hallandale, Florida in 1989., Where they played together with bands like Malevolent Creation, Cynic, Raped Ape, Panic and Saigon Kick. In the next two years more appearances followed in South Florida along with bands like Anthrax, Exodus, The Ramones, Wrathchild America, Scatterbrain and Savatage. After singer Shawn Rogers had separated from the band in 1990, Dan Fontana took over the post of the singer. In the years 1990 and 1991, the band recorded two demos in Morrisound Studios.

In 1992, bassist Barry Alpert left the band. Keyboardist Chad Steinhart joined the band and guitarist now White took over the post of the bass player. In 1993, the band released their first and only album, A New Hope. Bassist Jeordie White left the band in 1994 to join Marilyn Manson.

In 1996, the band released another demo, before mid- parted.
