Amdy Faye

Amdy Moustapha Faye ( born March 12, 1977 in Dakar, Senegal ) is a Senegalese footballer who is currently active for Leeds United in the Football League Championship. His position is midfield.

Career

Faye's first stop was in France at AJ Auxerre. During his time at Auxerre, he was appointed to the national team of Senegal, Senegal represented at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan. In 2003 he finally moved to England for just ascended Portsmouth. There he remained for two years and came to 47 games. In 2005 he moved to league rivals Newcastle United, but he remained there only a year and was then committed within the Premier League Charlton Athletic. In 2007, he was loaned by the Glasgow Rangers.

With the Rangers, he was 2007 Scottish League Cup winner and with the same team he reached the finals of the 2008 UEFA Cup, which they lost 0-2 against Zenit St Petersburg. Faye came in the final but not used.

After two years at Stoke City Amdy Faye moved in September 2010 to the English second division promoted Leeds United.
