Amedeo Carboni ( born April 6, 1965 in Arezzo ) is a former Italian football player and former sports director at Valencia. His greatest success Carboni with AS Roma and with his last club FC Valencia.

Career

Association

His footballing career started in 1982 Carboni in the Italian second division side AC Arezzo. 1983 he moved to Fiorentina, was there but not used and returned to his hometown club AC Arezzo. In his first season in 1984/85 he played 22 games and scored a goal. In the next season he played ten Serie A games for AS Bari. After briefly pulled him back to his home, he finally moved in 1987 to FC Empoli, where he played ten games in Serie A. In the following season 1987/88 he moved to Parma, where he in 28 games a goal in the series B achieved. Already in the next season took him Sampdoria under contract and there he remained for two years. Within two seasons, he came 60 times in the Italian first division used and scored two goals.

1990 Carboni was committed by Roma. There he was in his first season first-team regular and completed 33 games. In his second season in Rome Carboni had recorded his first international missions, he played with his team in three games of the UEFA Cup.

After seven successful seasons with AS Roma Carboni moved finally his club for the last time and went to Spain to Valencia. There he played a total of nine seasons and had some successes. Among the largest are the Spanish league title and the UEFA Cup victory with FC Valencia.

On 16 May 2006, Carboni graduated with 41 years, one month and ten days as the oldest player ever in the Spanish Primera División stood on the court, a championship game against CA Osasuna. He played through the entire game and thus surpassing the previous record of Donato Gama da Silva, who ended his career in 2003. With the victory in the UEFA Super Cup Carboni is also the oldest player ever to win a European club competition.

National

Carboni completed a total of 18 games for the Italian National Team. He also grew, with Italy at Euro 1996 part (2 inserts).

Manager

With the end of the 2005/06 season Carboni ended his career as a professional footballer and was at the Spanish club FC Valencia sporting director.

In June 2007, he was released due to internal disputes in Valencia.
