Amer Delić

Amer Delić (* June 30, 1982 in Tuzla ) is a Bosnian tennis player who has set out a long time for the United States. He is known for his strong serve.

Career

In 1996, Delić with his family from his home to Jacksonville, Florida, where he attended Samuel W. Wolfson High School. He then attended the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, in their tennis team he played. In 2003, he won the NCAA Singles Championship and the NCAA team championship.

So far Delić won seven smaller tournaments (two Futures tournaments, five Challenger tournaments) between 2003 and 2008, his best Grand Slam result he reached the Australian Open 2009 as he, after beating Taylor Dent and Paul -Henri Mathieu the third round pushed forward. There, he lost to Novak Djokovic in four sets ( 2:6, 6:4, 3:6, 6:7 ). On 26 March 2007 he defeated the then number four in the world rankings Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets ( 7-6, 6-3 ) at the Masters tournament in Miami.

Since 2010 Delić playing in the Davis Cup for the team in his home country of Bosnia- Herzegovina.
