American Hot Rod

American Hot Rod is a TV series of the Learning Channel / Discovery Networks, which shows the construction and adjustment of various Hot Rods and their own creations in the workshop of Boyd Coddington in La Habra, California. Death by Boyd Coddington in February 2008

In January 2008, Boyd Coddington was admitted after a fall at his home in the Presbyterian Hospital. The doctors expected a full recovery. Therefore, after a few days was the discharge from the hospital. A short time later Boyd Coddington was readmitted to the hospital, where he died on 27 February 2008 at the age of 63 years. The exact cause of death is currently unknown. It is assumed that it was due to his diabetes after the last surgical procedure, complications. The funeral took place on 5 March 2008 in La Habra, California held at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

What happened next?

His wife Jo first tried to get the company so, but was overwhelmed with the situation. The workshop was concluded on 20 June 2008 and approved vehicles is currently under construction. Boyd Coddington Jr. and Chris Coddington opened a shop for rims to the success of her father to continue.

After the closure of the company Dan Sobieski has opened his own workshop on 1 July 2008 and took over many of the workshop staff and some vehicles under construction.

Duane Mayer and Bernt " Burt " Karlsson worked briefly for West Coast Customs and later opened her own company, American Hot Rods Inc.

Charley Hutton worked for Foose, also appeared on the show Overhaulin '. Opened after Charley Hutton's Color Studio.

Mike Curtis continued to work for Chip Foose and appeared on Overhaulin '.
