American Registry for Internet Numbers

The American Registry for Internet Numbers ( ARIN ) is the Regional Internet Registry for the U.S., Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas and parts of the Caribbean. The organization was founded in 1997 and since then for the IP assignment in North America (USA, Canada and some islands of the Caribbean and the North Atlantic ) responsible. Since 2002, LACNIC has taken on the task for South America. Africa was officially adopted by the AfriNIC 2005.

ARIN is attached via the Address Supporting Organization of ICANN.

It has its headquarters in Chantilly (Virginia), Fairfax County in the U.S. state of Virginia.
