Life
Childhood
Rogers came in January 1980 as the first daughter of an African American and a South Korean born. As her father was an officer in the U.S. Army, she and her younger sister Angela came much to the world in childhood. So she grew up among others in Alaska, Texas, and South Korea; in recent years, she also lived for a time in Germany. Later the family moved to Washington, D.C. a permanent residence. After high school graduation Rogers decided to study at Georgetown University, where she received her bachelor's degree in 2000 in English and Fine Arts.
Career
Amerie managed her big break in 2001 on the song " Rule" along with Nas on his album Stillmatic. Then Rogers made a chorus voice on the albums from Ja Rule and Bow Wow 's attention. At the same time learned about Amerie the producer Rich Harrison know, which helped her to a recording contract with Sony's sub-label Columbia Records the following year. Only in 2002 released her debut solo album All I Have.
