The AMIGO Spiel Freizeit GmbH is a toy manufacturer based in Dietzenbach in the Offenbach district in Hesse.

History

After its founding in 1980, the company released mainly card games. The breakthrough came with the German distribution of UNO card game (until 1992, since Mattel ). Then Amigo also published extensive games. In 1998, the publishing house with the board game Elfenland the Game of the Year award and scored at the award ceremony of the German Game Prize the third place.

To date, the games range has grown considerably; In addition to classic board and card games also role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons came (since 2004 only as a distribution, no longer as a licensee for the German -language product) and trading cards free games, including Magic: The Gathering (until 2006, since Universal Cards ), the Pokémon TCG and other internationally popular representatives of this currently very popular game genre.

The company motto is " Great games for good ideas." The company currently employs approximately 50 people.
