The nurse River (Estonian nurse Jõgi ), is a 59 km long river in Estonia. Its catchment area is 501 km ². The river travels a gradient of 51.6 m. The inflows are kola oja, Nava oja, Kirjasoo peakraav, Vara oja, Preedi oja, Lubja oja, Vedu peakraav, Kõrveküla Kraav and Mudajõgi. At the nurse River flows, including through the village Palamuse.

The nurse River originates in Lake Kuremaa ( Kuremaa järv ). It flows into the Emajögi ( German Embach ). Near the mouth was to the destruction in 1558, the Cistercian Monastery Kärkna, the largest moated castle on the territory of present-day Estonia.
