Ammonium iron (II ) sulphate ( formerly Mohr's salt ) is the sulphate of ammonium and iron, it forms water- soluble, light green monoclinic crystals. It is commercially available as ammonium iron (II ) sulfate hexahydrate, usually with six molecules of water of crystallization.
Use
Due to its greater oxidation insensitivity compared to iron ( II ) sulfate and the subsequent purer representability it is used for setting the standard solutions of potassium permanganate.
