Properties

Ammonium perrhenate is a white solid which is slightly soluble in water. It decomposes at 400 ° C in the rhenium (IV ) oxide, water and nitrogen. It has a tetragonal crystal structure of scheelite - type with space group I41 / a (a = 587.1 pm, c = 1294.2 pm ).

Use

The resulting in the reduction of ammonium perrhenate with 2- hydrazinopyridine and triphenylphosphine rhenium ( III) organohydrazide are potential radiopharmaceuticals.
