Amphipyra effusa is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of cutworms ( Noctuidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 41-48 millimeters. The fore wings are light brown or ocher-brown. Transverse and wavy lines are clearly visible. There is a striking, almost rectangular dark field, which extends to the beveled front edge intermediate ring and kidney blemish. Other, smaller dark characters can be recognized by Costalrand and close to the inner angle. The hind wings are gray-brown without markings.

Full-grown caterpillars have a green color with a thin white line of the back and wide white side stripes.

The yellow-brown doll shows two peaks as well as some divergent bristles on the cremaster.
