The Amstel Tijgers are a Dutch ice hockey club from Amsterdam, which was founded in 1963 and for many years played in the Eredivisie. Play their home games in the club from the Jaap Edenhal that holds 4,000 spectators.

History

The Amstel Tijgers in 1963 as the successor club of A.IJ.HC Amsterdam, the 1950 champion and 1939 Cup Winners' Cup, was founded. The new club won the trophy after victory in 1980 in the 1984/85 season for the first time in the Double Dutch ice hockey. His strongest phase had the team from Amsterdam, however, when they won four championships in the early 21st century, between 2000 and 2007. They were also successful in the Coupe Lage Landen in this period five times in the National Cup, and three times.

2010 the professional club withdrew due to financial problems from the game and was dissolved. As the successor to the Amsterdam Capitals were (now Amsterdam G's ) founded during the Amstel Tijgers exclusively as an amateur club continue to exist.
