Amy Ziering

Amy Ziering (born in 1962 in Massachusetts ) is an American film producer who focuses mainly on documentaries.

Life and career

At the age of 16, she became interested in the work of Jacques Derrida and dedicated to him in 2002 a documentary film. Amy Ziering left in 1984, the Amherst College with a degree in English. In the 1980s she studied at Yale University. In 1998 she appeared for the first time as a producer for the documentary Taylor 's Campaign in appearance. The film received two film festivals an award for Best Documentary. In the documentary Derrida Ziering gave her directorial debut and was given along with Kirby Dick at the San Francisco International Film Festival Golden Gate Award. In 2007, she was in the movie The Memory Thief Drama again worked as a producer, in which Mark Webber and Rachel Miner received a starring role. Another time Ziering worked with Kirby Dick together in 2009. For the documentary about homosexuality in politics Dick wrote the screenplay and directed, Amy Ziering appeared again as a producer in appearance. At the Academy Awards in 2013 she received for her documentary The Invisible War together with Kirby Dick an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary.
