Ananias I of Armenia

Anania Mok, Anania Mokac'i (Armenian Անանիա Ա Մոկացի; † 965 ( 968 ) ) was a Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church and writer. His predecessor had been deposed and according to the laws of the Church throughout his life, no new Patriarch was elected. Only two years later Anania was Patriarch of Varagavank. He appeared as a church reformer and turned against the approach of Armenians to the Byzantines and the Chalcedonian, especially against mixed marriages. He moved the seat of the Catholicos of Aghtamar after Argina in Kars.
