Anatolian rock

Anadolu Rock is a term for Turkish rock music.

Development

The Turkish rock scene began in the mid 1960s as a popular musical groups from the United States and the United Kingdom and in Turkey reached a high level of awareness. Very soon accomplished artists such as Mogollar a distinctive fusion of rock and folk music. Mogollar took in Paris in 1971, the legendary LP Anadolu Pop (title of the Turkish edition ), which was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque of the Academie Charles Cross.

The majority of the material from this album ( original name: Les Danses et Rythmes de la Turquie d' aujourd'hui à here ) comes from Murat Ses ( compositions such as Legend of Mount Ararat ( Ağrı Dagi Efsanesi ) ).

After the release of the album was as a generic term initially Anadolu Pop and later used Anadolu rock. Anadolu rock generally describes today most forms of Turkish rock music and takeovers of this type

From 1966 to 1975 Psychedelic Rock Progressive Rock and then in Turkey was very popular. The best-known artists of the genres are Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Erkin Koray and Mogollar time still with Murat Ses.
