Anatoliy Demyanenko

Anatoly Wassyljowytsch Demjanenko (Ukrainian Анатолій Васильович Дем'яненко; Russian Анатолий Васильевич Демьяненко; born February 19, 1959 in Dnepropetrovsk, USSR) is a Ukrainian football coach and former football player.

Career

Player

Anatoly Demjanenko was over a long period, the captain of Dynamo Kiev. With Kiev he won five championships from 1979 to 1990 and was four times Cup winners in the Soviet Union. In 1985 he was elected to the Soviet Footballer of the Year and in 1986 he won with Dynamo Kiev the European Cup Winners' Cup.

In 1991, Demjanenko a short interlude in Germany. It should help that the first FC Magdeburg manages to qualify for the 2nd Bundesliga. Since he could not provide the decisive impetus of the team, he left Magdeburg after only three games and moved to Widzew Łódź in Poland. At the end of his career, he went back to the scene of his greatest successes and was with Dynamo Kiev in the season 1992/93 Ukrainian league and cup.

In December 2000 Demjanenko was chosen behind Oleh Blokhin and Andriy Shevchenko third best player of the Ukrainian team of the century. Anatoly Demjanenko covered with 80 missions in the Soviet national football team to fourth place in the USSR 's most capped player. He participated in three World Cups.

Coach

Anatoly Demjanenko began his coaching career in 2005 with Dynamo Kiev. During his time in Kiev, he won the Ukrainian Cup in season 2006/07. In the seasons 2005/ 06 and 2006/ 07 he was with the team trophy winner. After a series of unsuccessful games early in the season 2007/ 08 Demjanenko resigned in September 2007.

In January 2008, Demjanenko coach of Neftchi Baku in Azerbaijan when he became the successor of Vlastimil Petržela. Under Demjanenko Neftçi became the first club in Azerbaijan, who reached the third round in the UEFA Cup qualification. However, Anatoly Demjanenko was dismissed after the first two league games were lost. In August 2010 he was engaged as head coach of Uzbek first division Nasaf Karshi.
