Anders Abraham Grafström

Unlike Abraham Grafström ( born January 10, 1790 in Sundsvall, † July 24, 1870 in Umeå ) was a Swedish historian and poet.

Grafström in 1819 library secretary at Uppsala University, 1820 Professor of History, and later a lecturer at the Military Academy Karlberg and 1835 pastor to Umeå, where he lived until his death. He was inducted into the Swedish Academy in 1839 and sat on chair No. 6

Grafström first appeared as a poet in the poetic calendars of the newer school, and has subsequently published a number of poetry collections, such as: Skald - Försök ( Stockholm 1826-1832, 2 booklets ), Sånger från Norrland ( Stockholm 1841) and Nya från sånger Norrland ( Stockholm, 1848), which are characterized by a mild Ernst, a pure, often elegiac feeling and classical form and express a special talent for nature paintings.

A complete edition of his poems, it was claimed himself under the title Samlade skaldestycken out ( Stockholm 1864).

Grafström also wrote the text for the book edited by Christian Didrik Forssell copper plant Ett år i Sverige ( Stockholm 1827-35 ).
