André Dussollier
André Dussollier ( born February 17, 1946 in Annecy ) is a French actor.
Life and work
After a literature study with honors in Grenoble, which he completed at the request of parents, he chose 23 for an acting career in Paris. At the Conservatory, he received the first prize ( with Francis Perrin ) and in 1972 " retired " from the Comédie Française, which he, however, a few years later left for cinema and television. In the same year he made his film debut in the movie A beautiful girl like me by François Truffaut ( with Bernadette Lafont ), who saw him in Büchner's Leonce and Lena. In 1973 he also played in a lifetime by Claude Lelouch (on the side of Marthe Keller ). In particular, the role of the seducer, he took over in other films of the Nouvelle Vague directors like Jacques Rivette ( Theatre of Love, 1985), Éric Rohmer (eg Perceval le Gallois 1978 The beautiful wedding, 1982) and Claude Chabrol.
In 1982, he first worked with Alain Resnais ( Life is a novel and in 1984 in love until death ) - the beginning of a long collaboration. In 1985 he had a great audience success with Coline Serreaus comedy Three Men and a Baby. He received the first César Award nomination for his role in Mélo ( 1986) by Alain Resnais. The price itself, he won was in 1993 for A Heart in Winter ( 1991) by Claude Sautet and 1998 for Life is a song by Resnais as the best male lead and twice as Best Supporting Actor in 2001 for The officer Chamber of François Dupeyron and 2000 for a summer in the country (1999) by Jean Becker. In 2002 he received the " Prix Plaisir du Théatre " for his life's work. Today he is both on stage and in film as one of the most respected French actor.
From 2001 to 2003 he designed and interpreted Monstre sacrés, sacrés monstres, a show with lyrics by Charles Baudelaire, Sacha Guitry, Victor Hugo, Molière and Jacques Prévert. For this he received a nomination for the most important French Theatre Award Molière 2002.
Dussollier is married and has two children.
