André Erkau

André Erkau ( born August 17, 1968 in Dortmund ) is a German film director and screenwriter.

Life and work

André Erkau grew up in Bremen. After a drama school in Hamburg, he worked in the theater and turned among other things, some television and feature film productions before he learned from 2001 to 2005 at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, the craft of directing. 2005 joined André Erkau his studies with distinction. His was with the film predicate Especially Valuable BANDED of the Filmbewertungsstelle graduation film 37 without onions with well over twenty prices as one of the most successful German short films of 2006. For his feature film debut self-talk André Erkau received the 2008 Max Ophüls Film Award and also the film predicate Especially Valuable of the film Review Board.
