André Gonçalves

André Gonçalves was a Portuguese explorer. He led an expedition to explore the coast of Brazil.

Brazil was discovered by the Portuguese previously by Pedro Álvares Cabral an expedition under. One of the ships of Cabral under the command of Gaspar de Lemos brought the news of the discovery back to Portugal. Then stabbed Gonçalves on May 10, 1501 from the Tagus to sea.
