André Kiesewetter

André Kiesewetter ( born August 20, 1969 in Neuhaus am Rennweg ) is a former German ski jumper who was active from 1987 to 1995. He grew up in Lauscha and was discovered in the Winter Sports section of the former BSG Chemie Lauscha. In the junior age group, he joined the SC motor Zella- Mehlis, where, also from Lauscha Reinhard Hess was his coach.

Kiesewetter was the first German ski jumper, the new Skispringtechnik, the V- style learned. After the Swedish Springer January Boklöv had dominated in 1989 with this new technique, the overall World Cup, is Kiesewetter this new technology decided together to learn with his exercise bike Reinhard Hess. In December 1990, he celebrated his first victory at the World Cup competition in Lake Placid and Sapporo. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 1991 in Val di Fiemme, he won together with Jens Weissflog, Dieter Thoma and Heiko hunger the bronze medal in the team competition. From the normal hill he was twelfth, and on the large hill, he finished seventh rank. At the end of the season he was able to record the tenth place in the overall World Cup. When ski flying in Planica 1991 he set up almost an unofficial world record. Its length of 196 meters was not then recognized as a world record because he had seized upon landing in the snow. Then he had a seasoned trial over 191 meters, which was seen as setting the world record. The FIS had time lengths, which went beyond 191 meters, rated with exactly this length to prevent safety reasons, a wide- hunting.

While preparing for the next season Kiesewetter crashed in the fall of 1991 at the Hans -Renner- Schanze in Oberhof hard and suffered a comminuted fracture in his left ankle. After he had fought around the port for several years and could only laboriously qualify for the competition 's top 50 athletes in the few missions in the World Cup, he finished in 1995 his sports career.

Kiesewetter began in 1995 with the training of physiotherapists. Today he works as a therapist at a clinic in Herzogenaurach. Part-time he was in charge from 2002 to 2006, the women's handball team of HG Quelle Fürth and from 2006 to 2007, the handball players of the second team of the 1st FC Nuremberg. Since the 2007/2008 season he has been in the Bundesliga for the handball team of the 1st FC Nuremberg.
