André Michelin

André Michelin (* January 16, 1853, † April 4, 1931 ) was a French industrialist.

André Michelin received his university degree in civil engineering from the École Centrale Paris in 1877. Together with his brother Édouard Michelin, he founded the company in 1888 Michelin & Cie., which produced the first pneumatic tire in 1891.

In addition, he led the 1900 Michelin Guide 1910 and gave a 47 -leaved France map out, which was folded accordion principle.
