André Patry

André Patry (* November 22, 1902, † June 20, 1960 ) was a French astronomer.

Patry lost very early on his parents and grew up as an orphan. At the age of 17, he began working at Nice Observatory. Here he assisted initially in the instruments. It dealt mainly with the later study of asteroids and made a matter of also nine new discoveries.

In recognition of his work, the asteroid (1601 ) Patry was named after him.
