Andrea Blackett

Andrea Blackett (Andrea Melissa Blackett, born January 24, 1976 London Borough of Bromley, United Kingdom) is a former Barbadian hurdler who had specialized in the 400-meter distance. Because of their strength Sprint was also used in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

In 1997 she won at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in the 400m hurdles and won the 100m hurdles bronze. At the World Athletics Championships in Athens, she was eighth. 1998 saw a silver medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo gold at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. The following year she defended her title at the Central American and Caribbean Championships. At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1999, she won silver in the 400m meters and bronze in the 4 x 400 - meter relay; at the World Championships in Seville, she finished fourth.

In 2000, she reached at the Olympic Games in Sydney 400m hurdles semi-finals and the difference with the Barbadian 4 x 400 -meter relay in the run- off. At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton they do not make it past the first round.

In 2003, she won bronze respectively in the Central American and Caribbean Championships and the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo and finished sixth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 they failed in the first round.
