Andreas Hackethal

Andreas Hackethal ( born February 5, 1971 in Coburg ) is a German economist. He is Professor of Finance and Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Life

Andreas Hackethal studied Business Administration at Goethe University and the University of Iowa, USA. He received his doctorate in 1999 Reinhard H. Schmidt at the Goethe University and graduated in 2005 his habilitation in economics from Goethe University. Parallel to his academic career, he worked for two years in the banking industry, and eight years in strategy consulting. In January 2005 he was appointed professor at the European Business School in Oestrich- angle, where in 2007 he was professor of financial services to the end and the local Department of Finance, Accounting and Real Estate headed.

In 2008 he accepted a call to a financial professor at the House of Finance at Goethe University and taking over as head of the Goethe Business School, the Center for academic management education at the University of Frankfurt. Since October 2011 he has been dean of the entire Department of Economics.

He is responsible also in the House of Finance Retail Banking Competence Center ( RBCC ) and is a director of the E-Finance Lab, which is operated jointly by the Universities of Frankfurt and Darmstadt.

He teaches and researches in the areas of Personal Finance and Empirical banking. Since 2009 he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, since the end of 2011 a member of the Stock Exchange Commission of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
