Andrésy

Andrésy is a commune with 11,980 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the region of Ile- de -France in the department of Yvelines. It belongs to the district of Saint- Germain -en- Laye and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton of Andrésy. The inhabitants are called André Parisiens.

Geography

To the east of the municipality of the Oise flows into the Seine, the town lies on the north bank. The His - Ile Nancy is a well-known nature park. Is surrounded by the neighboring communities Andrésy Maurecourt in the north, Conflans -Sainte -Honorine in the northeast and east, in the southeast Achères, Carrières- sous -Poissy in the south and Chanteloup -les -Vignes in the West.

History

The early name of the place was Anderitianorum Parisii. As Undresiacum original settlement, the settlement has been known since the Roman Empire. Already 710 includes a certificate Chilperic II the place name Andresy.
