Andrew Boone

Andrew computational Moon Boone ( born April 4, 1831 Davidson County, Tennessee; † 26 January 1886 in Mayfield, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1875 and 1879 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Already in 1833 came Andrew Boone with his parents to Mayfield in Kentucky. There he attended the public schools. After a subsequent law degree in 1852 and its recent approval as a lawyer began in Mayfield to work in this profession. Between 1854 and 1861 he was district judge in Graves County. As a supporter of the Confederacy in 1861 he supported the motion, which called for the withdrawal of Kentucky from the Union. At that time he was a member of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives from Kentucky.

During the Civil War, Boone joined politically in appearance. From 1868 to 1874 he acted judge in the first judicial district of Kentucky. In the congressional elections of 1874, he became the first electoral district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Edward Cross Country on March 4, 1875. After a re-election in 1876 he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1879 two legislative sessions.

In 1878, Boone gave up another candidacy. Since 1882 he was Chairman of the Railway Committee of the State of Kentucky. This office he held until his death on 26 January 1886. He was buried in Mayfield.
