Andrew Hao Jinli

Andrew Hao Jinli (* 1916 in Tongzhou, Guizhou; † 9 March 2011 Gonghui ) was a Roman Catholic priest of the underground church and bishop of Xiwanzi in Hebei province.

Life

Hao came from a Catholic family. Next to him, two of his brothers became priests. Andrew Hao Jinli received priestly ordination in 1943. He was a victim of the takeover by the Communists and eventually arrested in 1958 by the Chinese authorities and sentenced to ten years in prison for "counterrevolutionary crimes ". After release from prison in 1968, he was interned in reeducation camps Gonghui. It was not until 1981 he was released.

After three years of pastoral work, he was ordained in succession by Melchior K'o Chang - hung in 1984 as bishop of the underground diocese Chongli - Xiwanzi. 2002 beige represents him because of increasing health impairments Leon Yao Liang as coadjutor.

Hao Jinli was romtreuer clergyman and was never recognized by the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association.
