Andrew L. Stone
Andrew L. Stone (* July 16, 1902 in Oakland, California, † June 9, 1999 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American film director.
Life and work
Andrew L. Stone's film career began with work in the laboratory and in the prop. After a first directorial job in 1927 was followed by years of work in the production area, before he regularly worked again as a director since 1937. Multiple staged Stone musician biographies to his work but also includes thrillers and disaster movies like Hell Ride. Stone realized most of his films with a production company founded by him.
For his script for Murder in the Clouds Stone was nominated for an Oscar in 1957.
