Andrew Lesnie

Andrew Lesnie ( born 1956 in Sydney) is an Australian cinematographer.

Life and work

His career in film began in the late 1970s as a camera assistant and camera operator. He received the Australian Film Television and Radio School his training.

First, he gained fame for his work on the film Babe (1995). A year later, he worked on the film Stolen Hearts.

For his work on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, he received an Oscar in 2002. In 2004 he was awarded the British Academy Film Award, and has also won in the Online Film Critics Society Awards a price.

Lesnie lives in Sydney, Australia.
