Andrew Niccol
Andrew Niccol ( born January 1, 1964 in Paraparaumu ) is a New Zealand screenwriter, director and producer.
Life
Niccol was born in Paraparaumu, New Zealand and grew up in Auckland. At the age of 21, he left New Zealand to work in London as a commercial filmmaker. Since the 1990s, he also works as a film director in Hollywood. He was known primarily for his contributions to the science fiction genre. His films have a rather pessimistic view of the future, such as Gattaca, The Truman Show and In Time. For the writer of The Truman Show, he was nominated for both the Globe and the Oscar Golden, for the screenplays for Gattaca and Truman Show, he was awarded Screenwriter of the Year by the London Critics' Circle.
Niccol is married to model and actress of his film S1m0ne Rachel Roberts since 2002. The couple has two children.
