Andrew Petersen

Andrew Nicholas Petersen ( born March 10, 1870 Thisted, Denmark, † September 28, 1952 in East Rockaway, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1921 and 1923 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Andrew Nicholas Petersen was born during the reign of Christian IX. , King of Denmark, in Thisted. The Petersen family emigrated in 1873 to the United States and settled in Boston ( Massachusetts). 1879, they moved to New York City, where he attended public schools. He completed an apprenticeship as a pattern maker. Between 1900 and 1952 he was president of the Brooklyn Foundry Co. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1920 for the 67th Congress, he was in the ninth election district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of David J. O'Connell on March 4, 1921. In 1922 he suffered in his re-election bid a defeat and retired after March 3, 1923 the Congress of.

After his conference time he went to Brooklyn after his former business. He died on 28 September 1952 in East Rockaway and was then buried in the Cypress Hills Abbey, Brooklyn.
