Andrew Schally
Andrew Victor Schally (Polish Andrzej Wiktor Schally, born November 30, 1926 in Vilnius ( Vilna ), then Poland, now Lithuania ) is a Polish- American physiologist.
Schally, son of the Polish General Kazimierz Schally (1895-1967), made major works on the thyrotropin -releasing hormone.
1974 Schally won a Gairdner Foundation International Award. In 1977, he received together with Roger Guillemin received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine " for their discoveries concerning the production of peptide hormones in the brain."
