Andrij Oleksijowytsch Worobej (Ukrainian Андрій Олексійович Воробей, scientific transliteration Andrij Oleksijovyč Vorobej; Russian Андрей Алексеевич Воробей, Andrei Alekseyevich Worobej; born November 29, 1978 in Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian football player. The striker is longtime Ukrainian national team.

Career

Worobej from 1994 to 2007 Shakhtar Donetsk under contract came in 1997 into the professional team of Donetsk. There, he scored in 291 games 113 goals, including 80 goals in 219 games in the first Ukrainian Premier League. With Shakhtar Donetsk he twice won the Ukrainian Championship ( 2002, 2005) and three times the Ukrainian Cup (2001, 2002, 2004). In addition, in 2000 he was voted the best player of the Ukrainian Premier League. A year later he was also with 20 goals scorer.

For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to league rivals Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, two years later to Arsenal Kiev.

For the Ukrainian national team, he played 68 games so far and scored nine goals. From Ukrainian Oleg Blokhin coach, he was also appointed to the 23-man squad for the 2006 World Cup, but he remained scoreless in his four stakes. His debut for the national team, he gave in May 2000 against England.
