Andrzej Smirnow

Andrzej Smirnov ( born September 9, 1938 in Warsaw) is a Polish politician, Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

After visiting the Stanisław Staszic -Gymnasium (XIV Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Stanisław Staszica. ) In Warsaw, he studied at Warsaw University of Technology where he graduated with a master's. After that, he worked at the Institute for Electrical Drives and then at the Institute for flow control and electronic industry ( sterowania i Elektroniki Przemyslowej ). 1974 received his doctorate in engineering science Smirnov. In 1980 he became chairman of the NSZZ Solidarność Warsaw University of Technology and remained so until 1990. At the same time, he was Deputy Chairman of the National Department of Science of Solidarity. He was co-founder in 1990 of the Porozumienie Centrum (Centre Alliance), but this left to run for membership of Solidarity with the first elections of the Third Polish Republic in 1991. His candidacy was successful and he was a Member of the Sejm. From 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the Parliament of the Masovian Voivodship. He was a member of the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność ( Solidarity Electoral Action ) and was again able to win with her during the 2007 elections a mandate for Parliament. 2002 Andrzej Smirnov member of the Civic Platform.
