Andwil
Andwil is a municipality in the canton of St. Gallen. It is located in the constituency of St. Gallen.
Andwil is located north of Gossau.
History
The history of documented Andwil starts at the beginning of the 13th century. 1470 Andwil including bailiwick is sold to the Heilig-Geist -Spital in St. Gallen. As a result of the criminal Rorschach monastery break Andwil 1490 federally, but then sold the abbot; Andwil is now finally äbtisch. From the chunky stones of the ruined castle Andwil 1732, the parish church and the Cross first- timbered house " deer " to be built. In the same year the school Andwil is first mentioned.
The June 21, 1803 is considered as the birthday of the political community Andwil.
