Andrew Thomas "Andy" Carroll ( born January 6, 1989 in Gateshead ) is an English footballer who is at West Ham United in the English Premier League under contract.

Newcastle United
Andy Carroll began his career as a professional footballer with Newcastle United. After he was promoted to the first team squad in 2006, gave the young striker made his professional debut for the Magpies on 17 January 2007. During the 1:5 home defeat in the FA Cup against Birmingham City, he came off the bench in 80 minutes. On 22 February the same year Carroll played for the first time in the UEFA Cup.
His Premier League debut came three days later against Wigan Athletic.
During the 2007/ 08 season, the striker was loaned to second division side Preston North End where he could score his first Profitor in the home game against Leicester City on 6 November 2007.
After he completed some missions in the relegation season of 2008/ 09 and scored three goals for Newcastle in the Premier League, he was promoted in the 2009/10 season with Kevin Nolan to the best scorers in the Magpies, each with 17 goals in the Football League Championship and rose end of the season with Newcastle United back to the Premier League. In the first English top Caroll could be put to the proof. In the first half of the 2010/11 season he scored 11 goals for Newcastle.
Liverpool FC
On 31 January 2011 Carroll moved for 40 million euros to league rivals Liverpool, where he became the successor of Fernando Torres. He signed a contract until 2016. After failing the first few weeks after his transfer due to injury, he scored a brace on 11 April 2011 and thus his first goals for the Reds.
On August 30, 2012 Carroll was borrowed for the 2012/13 season at West Ham United. Before he came to Liverpool in the first two league games, along with two brief appearances.
For the 2013/14 season Carroll has been committed. He signed a contract for six seasons until June 30, 2019 with an option for two more seasons.
National
Andy Carroll was National Player of the U-19 selection of England. On 11 August 2009, he completed his first against the Netherlands under-21 international for England; it was followed on 9 October 2009, the second appearance at the 6:3 win against Macedonia, in which he simultaneously reach his first two goals.
On 17 November 2010 he stood for the first time as part of a friendly match against France in the starting of the English national team, which lost 1-2. In a larded with reserve players Elf he was replaced in the 72nd minute for the also debuting Jay Bothroyd. On 29 March 2011, he scored in a friendly match against Ghana, his first international goal for the Three Lions.
