Andy O'Brien (footballer)

Andrew "Andy" James O'Brien ( born June 29, 1979 in Harrogate ) is an Irish footballer who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps since 2012.

Career

O'Brien began his football career at Bradford City. From 1994 to 2001 he was there under contract. In 2001, the central defender, who can also play in defensive midfield play to Newcastle United. The two seasons 2005/ 06 and 2006/ 07 he graduated to Portsmouth, before he moved to Bolton Wanderers on 13 August 2007.

Having been on loan at Leeds United in the Football League Championship, he was initially 2010/11 active, Andy O'Brien moved early January 2011 on a fixed contract basis at the club from Leeds.

National

O'Brien is a former Irish national team and was in the squad of his country for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, where he did not, however, was used.
